Part-time/Flexible Tax manager will be responsible for preparing and reviewing individual, fiduciary, corporation, partnership, and exempt organization returns as a team member in a public accounting firm. Responsibilities include meeting with clients, using professional software to prepare returns, reviewing returns for accuracy, working with other team members, and communicating with representatives from the IRS and Alabama Department of Revenue. Certification as a CPA or Enrolled Agent and at least two years of tax preparation experience with both individual and entity returns is required. Other qualifications include a good working knowledge of financial statements and payroll, evidence of supervisory ability, comfortable working with small business owners, enjoys numbers and is technologically savvy. Candidates must be available year round to work 24-30 hours per week during normal business hours. Compensation will be based on experience and production. Seasonal income tax preparer will be responsible for preparing individual income tax returns as a team member in a professional setting during the upcoming tax season. Responsibilities include accurate keying of relevant source documents into professional software, identifying missing or unclear information, contacting clients by phone/email, reviewing returns for accuracy, working with other team members, and general customer service. Experience in preparing individual income tax returns is required and additional training is available depending on existing experience. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 24 hours per week during normal business hours between 2/1 and 4/15. Compensation will be hourly and based on experience, production, and accuracy.
